Through Moodle, you can post syllabi and class readings, have students share ideas or resources with each other, provide low-stake and higher stakes assessments, collect and comment upon student work, and more.
Sharon Strauss, Instructional Technology Specialist, will lead a workshop series “Moodle and Its Friends” for those new to Moodle, as well as those that want to refresh knowledge and learn more about our learning management platform. In this series, we’ll look at Haverford’s Moodle learning management system and linked systems (Panopto for lecture capture, VoiceThread for online presentations and/or conversations around images, Perusall for group annotations).
The workshop has four parts:
August 17, 10 – 11 AM: Overview of Moodle and companion tools
August 18, 10 – 11 AM: Options for student submissions, especially discussion forums and assignment
August 24, 10 – 11 AM: Moodle Quizzes and automatic grading
August 25, 10 – 11 AM: Group work and grading
This workshop series is perfect for faculty new to Haverford—as well any faculty member that wants to update or enhance Moodle skills. Email sstrauss@haverford.edu with any special questions, concerns, topic interests, or scheduling needs you may have. Sharon will try to structure the workshop to accommodate your needs.
